Five years shaping Australia’s sustainable finance system.
Since 2021, ASFI has worked with the finance sector, government, First Nations communities and international partners to help shape the systems, standards and capabilities needed for sustainable finance in Australia.
Our 2026 Impact Report reflects on that work, identifying 179 outcomes ASFI contributed to between 2021 and 2025 and examining how those changes have influenced institutions, policy and the broader financial system.
What our impact looks like
ASFI’s impact is reflected in changes across the sustainable finance system, from financial institution practice and government policy, to capability, collaboration and market development.
The Impact Report identified 179 specific outcomes ASFI contributed to between 2021 and 2025. Importantly, the majority of these changes occurred at an institutional or systemic level, reflecting ASFI’s focus on influencing the broader conditions and practices that shape sustainable finance.
Across the report, six case studies explore ASFI’s contribution to the Australian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, international harmonisation, sustainable finance policy, First Nations finance, leadership and capability, and blended finance.
