Professor Deen Sanders OAM to guide First Nations leadership in sustainable finance
The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI) has appointed Professor Deen Sanders OAM as a Board Advisor and Cultural Governance and First Nations Leadership Advisor.
The appointment reinforces ASFI’s commitment to embedding First Nations leadership, Indigenous Knowledge and economic self- determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within Australia’s financial system.
Response to Parliamentary Inquiry Report on Economic Self-Determination for First Nations
Over the last year, a Joint Parliamentary Committee has been conducting an inquiry into First Nations self-determination. The Committee’s report was released earlier this month and garnered a strong response from First Nations groups. First Nations Projects Group (FNPG) and The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI) have today announced a partnership to incubate a peak body that will provide support to First Nations groups in developing partnerships with industry and government on major projects where there are shared interests.
