2024 Work Program

Policy Engagement

Earlier this month, ASFI made a submission to the ACCC’s consultations on its draft guide to sustainability collaborations. In our feedback, we welcomed the ACCC’s guide as an important first step in facilitating collaboration critical to addressing climate and environmental challenges. Read more →

The second annual Australia-New Zealand 2+2 Climate and Finance Dialogue took place yesterday in Brisbane. Ministers underscored Australia and New Zealand’s commitment to supporting the growth and credibility of sustainable finance markets in each country, as well as continuing trans-Tasman cooperation and working together in international fora to support credible and aligned global standards for sustainable finance. Natural Capital

ASFI invites organisations to join the Australian companies and financial institutions who have already signalled their intention to get started with nature-related reporting, aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations, by becoming a TNFD Adopter. ASFI will continue to work with our members and partners to showcase Australian leadership on nature through the Global Nature Positive Summit this October.

First Nations and Finance

In NAIDOC Week, ASFI proudly hosted screenings of ‘UNDERMINED - Tales from the Kimberley’ in Naarm (Melbourne) and Gadigal (Sydney). The screenings celebrated the strength and resilience of First Nations communities in the Kimberley, highlighting their efforts to preserve their culture, and care for their communities and country in the face of modern development activities.

Missed the event? We’re excited to be hosting a Q&A with the Director, Stephanie King and Traditional Owner, Bardi-Kija-Nyul Nyul man and Executive Producer, Albert Wiggan, to explore the film's themes and hear more tales from the Kimberley. Register here.

Finance Sector Leadership

Earlier this week, we celebrated the conclusion of the first cohort of ASFI’s sustainable finance mentoring program, Limitless. Participants came together for a morning of networking to reflect on the professional and personal learnings gained through the program.

ASFI's mentor program was established to support the uplift in finance sector capability needed to achieve Australia's sustainable finance ambitions.

Thank you to Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) for making this inaugural mentor program possible. We look forward to launching the second cohort of the program shortly.
