ASFI Releases Revised Sustainable Finance Capability Framework

Supporting capability uplift and leadership across the financial system is critical to addressing the complex challenges of reducing emissions, building climate resilience, protecting and restoring nature, enabling First Nations economic self-determination and driving community resilience and financial inclusion.

Last year, ASFI released a pilot Sustainable Finance Capability Framework to help guide finance professionals and organisations to develop the skills, knowledge, and mindsets to advance sustainable finance. We’re pleased to share an updated version of the pilot Framework, incorporating valuable feedback from stakeholders across the sector.

Key updates include:

  • Stronger emphasis on the importance of a sustainability mindset.

  • Integration of First Nations considerations across all areas of the Framework.

  • Expanded knowledge and skillsets to include sustainability issues beyond climate.

We encourage organisations to use the Framework to assess current capabilities, support team and role design, and inform learning and development initiatives.

We welcome your organisation to pilot the Framework as this work continues to evolve. Get in touch at info@asfi.org.au.
