How financial institutions are approaching nature

ASFI and Macdoch Foundation’s Farming for the Future have released first insights from our ‘Valuing Natural Capital’ partnership.

The report, which draws on interviews with participants of our Natural Capital Advisory Group (NCAG), highlights:

  • Growing interest in natural capital, but slow progress due to nascent understanding, a lack of clear definitions, evolving standards and competing sustainability demands.

  • The essential role of the entire value chain in encouraging the adoption of sustainable natural capital management practices.

  • The critical enabling role for Government to facilitate investment in natural capital and sustainable land management practices.

We are leveraging these insights through our work as we continue to advance the inclusion of natural capital considerations in decision-making across the finance sector.
