As climate change increases the frequency and severity of natural disasters, it's clear that climate adaptation solutions are urgently needed. Swiss Re Institute analysis shows that the benefits of the right adaptation measures can outweigh costs by a factor of 10 or more, and yet, there is chronic underfunding and execution of climate adaptation projects. As we approach COP28 we call for a collective focus on prioritising long-term plans for adaptation and resilience, and the consideration of climate risk into all decision making, so that we can build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Join this Swiss Re event and help shape urgent climate adaptation action.
This event will address ways to overcome the barriers to action, raising awareness of the benefits of early climate adaptation and presenting a hypothesis for a universal approach to assess the economic and social benefits of adaptation interventions.
