Discussions on sustainable finance with the King
21 October, Canberra: CEO of the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI), Kristy Graham, met today with His Majesty the King as part of his visit to the Australian National Botanical Gardens.
The discussions were focused on sustainable finance, nature positive initiatives and climate change.
ASFI CEO, Kristy Graham said: “We know the King is deeply committed to a sustainable finance agenda. It was wonderful to engage with His Majesty and brief him on ASFI’s work – particularly on how we’re focused on getting big money to things that matter.
“Australia has the fourth largest pool of investment funds globally – and the largest in Asia. ASFI’s work is focused on getting large pools of capital – from super funds, to banks, insurers and government - to assets that will create climate, environmental and social outcomes.
“It’s excellent to see the King’s continued commitment to sustainability issues and using his visit to highlight the need for strong climate and environmental action.
“Taking advantage of the transition to a nature positive and net zero future is an immense opportunity for Australia’s economy, and it was wonderful to engage with Australia’s King and Queen on this issue.”
